Beckley Correctional Center and Jail

About the Facility

Established in 1974 as Beckley Work Release Center, the facility was reorganized in 1997 and renamed Beckley Correctional Center. The center expanded into the Jackie Withrow hospital in March of 2011. The facility is a minimum-security community correctional facility with a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Unit, (RSAT) located on the grounds of Jackie Withrow Hospital. It has a current capacity of 137 inmates: 70 males and 8 females in the Work Release Component and 59 male inmates in the Residential Substance Abuse Unit (RSAT).
