Robert L. Shell Juvenile Diagnostic and Intake Center

About the Facility

Robert L. Shell Juvenile Diagnostic and Intake Center (RSJC) is a twenty three (23) bed co-ed facility that will be serving both Diagnostic and Intake/Assessment for all 55 counties. Diagnostic will have a maximum of thirteen (13) beds and Intake will have a maximum of five (5) beds. The remaining five (5) beds are for transitioning temporary Detention residents to a more appropriate DJS facility. Upon arrival to the Robert L. Shell Juvenile Center for Diagnostic, each resident is assigned to one (1) of two (2) treatment teams. Whatever the confinement reason, juveniles who are detained at RSJC are provided with all basic essentials and education, assessments, recreation, health, counseling and other intervention services with the intent of maintaining a youth's well-being during his or her stay in custody.
