About the Facility

The J.M. “Chick” Buckbee Juvenile Center is a twenty-four (24) bed facility housing male residents in both detention and commitment statuses. We are located in Hampshire County, West Virginia. The facility provides educational and medical services, individual and group counseling, recreational activities and religious services. In addition, the facility provides seasonal/holiday celebrations, special guest speakers, recreational tournaments, special resident/staff luncheons, and a positive behavior- incentive program. Families are able to visit with their child and have access to our treatment team and we encourage family therapy when appropriate.
